Vimal Kedia

Group Chairman & Founder, Manjushree Ventures

A visionary with four decades in the plastic packaging industry, Vimal Kedia has been recognized as an ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur’ by the President of India.

 

His leadership roles include founder and former Managing Director of Manjushree Technopack Ltd., President of PACE, and Chairman of the Indian Institute of Packing, Bangalore Centre.

 

Guided by innovation and sustainability, he steers Manjushree Ventures towards excellence.

Vimal Kedia

Co-founder and Executive Director, Manjushree Technopack Ltd.

Surendra Kedia, co-founder of Southeast Asia's top rigid packaging producer, Manjushree Technopack, is a BITS Pilani graduate with 40 years of industry expertise.

A renewable energy innovator, he also established RESET, a premium holistic fitness club in Bangalore. Currently, he's pioneering graceful aging methods for those over 50.

Rajat Kedia

Managing Partner, Manjushree Ventures

With an MBA from Cardiff Business School, Rajat has 20 years of experience in speciality rigid containers, scaling Manjushree Technopack to Rs. 11300 million.

​

As a managing partner in Manjushree Ventures, he oversees $100 Million of investments and founded Manjushree Spntek to produce nonwoven fabrics for the medical and hygiene industry.

Vimal Kedia

Co-founder and Executive Director, Manjushree Technopack Ltd.

Previously pivotal in elevating Manjushree Technopack to leadership status, Ankit now heads Capital-A, with a keen interest in Climate and Fintech. In 2022, he spearheaded the launch of Manjushree Packtek Pvt. Ltd for sustainable paper packaging.

An avid musician and world traveller, Ankit continues to drive innovation and supports the Indian startup ecosystem.

With over 25 years of expertise in areas like mergers, acquisitions, private equity, portfolio management, venture capital, and more, Basant Mohata is the financial linchpin of the group.

His proven success in handling complex transactions and managing investments exceeding $200 million showcases his deep understanding of the Indian business landscape and financial acumen.

Early Years and Beginnings

  • Vimal Kedia makes humble beginnings by manufacturing umbrellas in Guwahati, Assam.
     

  • Diversification into flexible for the flourishing tea gardens of Assam in 1982.

1983

Establishment of Flexible Packaging Division

Surendra Kedia joins operations to establish a firm footing in the flexible industry.

1994-1997

Growth and Recognition

  • Entry into rigid plastics with Bangalore plant, begins manufacturing of PET Bottles and Containers in 1996.
     

  • ​Vimal Kedia receives the National Awards for Outstanding Entrepreneurship from the President of India, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma in 1997.

2003-2009

Generational Transition and Expansion

  • Induction of the 2nd Generation – Rajat joins in 2003; Ankit joins in 2006.
     

  • Follow on public offering, lists on the BSE/NSE successfully in. Completes 25 years of packaging excellence.

2011-2016

Sustainability and Strategic Partnerships

  • Unveils “Vision 2020”, commissions Wind Power Plant in 2011.
     

  • Becomes South Asia's largest manufacturer of PET Preforms in 2013.
     

  • Partners with PE fund Kedaara Capital in 2015 and acquires Varahi Ltd.'s packaging business in 2016.

2018-2019

Major Milestones & Transformation

  • Crosses revenue of $200M, divests controlling stake to Advent International in 2018.
     

  • Formalization of family office – Manjushree Ventures is born in 2019.
